Pretending to work is the most relatable thing he's ever done. Hope he loses tho.

WTF is this bullshit about McD's not hiring felons? That's patently false.

[–] Rhaedas@fedia.io 28 points 3 hours ago (2 children)

You're probably right. On your application you have to say if you have felonies or not, and it's not an automatic refusal. He wouldn't have enough room to list his though, so might be a red flag to the manager.

[–] banner80@fedia.io 6 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

Another article said that the McD headquarters doesn't hire felons, but the franchises can do whatever they want and some don't do background checks.

I was stuck at imagining Trump going through an interview as a manager. Imagine when they ask him what he would do in situations with diverse hires, or how to make schedules without favoritism, his views on maintaining food safety and standards, how he plans to handle difficult customers. The rants would be epic. If you let him speak he'll talk himself out of a job in the first 3 minutes.

Trump is not qualified to hold any job whatsoever in the American business landscape. He has no skills for any technical work, he would be terrible working a service job, and he is absolutely horrendous at business with his reliable track record of failures, bankruptcies and grifts.

The only job he is qualified for appears to be conman politician for the GOP, where the standards are so low that nobody can find the floor.

And, if Elon is any example, CEO.

Not in Colorado (and other areas)

[–] Catoblepas@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 2 hours ago

California as well, it’s called the “ban the box” law here.

I thought it was just because the man really likes McDonald's.

The best part is this was for athletes. At least atheletes can burn off the calories from all the exercise they do. Not that that really fully negates the poison they're putting in their bodies.

I am a former adult cross country marathon athlete, now with less marathon and more glorious dad bod. So eating healthy ultraprocessed “junk” over 3000-4000 calories a day was my life, for years (the 90s was a thing). You do not eat mcdonalds if you are a health conscious athlete. it is NOT calories in/out. Soo much crap for the body to process, there is nothing nutritious for mcds, even the salad is bad for you.

I ONCE had mcd’s night before a race and felt like shit during the race, which was followed up by, yes you guessed it, had the SHITS while i powered through it and ran my race. Post race, i would have thought I had the flu based on how bad i felt. This is in the 90s of course, when Mcds was going through their “our hamburgers are 100% beef” stage. It tasted great, until it didn’t.

So yes, we can burn through those calories, but your stomach/asshole be damned.

I hate trump as much as the next person, but I am unsure if any of those 3 statements are true.

[–] njm1314@lemmy.world 3 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

Which ones are you objecting to specifically? Other than McDonald's potentially hiring felons thing I don't think any of those is even close to questionable.

[–] soloner@lemmy.world 1 points 41 minutes ago (1 children)

It seems weird even for trump to do McDonald's to troll Harris. What is the troll move there? It seems more like he is trying to relate to people. I'm sure a lot of his fan base does work at McDonald's and other fast food so if he is trolling Harris wouldn't he be trolling those people too?

The "McDonald's doesn't hire felons" was disputed in this same post.

The middle yellow one seems believable, but it's just a random statement from a professor. Could also be easily made up.

[–] njm1314@lemmy.world 1 points 6 minutes ago* (last edited 5 minutes ago)

Well that quote from the professor is true and it's fairly easy to find. I'm surprised you hadn't heard it before.

As for the troll part I mean come on. Of course that's why he's doing it. He's been bothered by the McDonald's thing for months. Donald Trump didn't care about reaching out to people. That's not how even an iota of his campaign is run. He's entire campaign is based on attack, insult, panic, and fear. Let's not be gullible here.

[–] Asafum@feddit.nl 3 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

He inherited something like 400 million from his father and he's definitely doing the McDonald's thing to troll Harris and try to act like he's a "man of the people."

Not sure about how hard it would be for him to get the job at McDonald's though so I guess 2 out of 3 at least lol

[–] ShadowFlower@lemm.ee 1 points 50 minutes ago (2 children)

I hate trump.

This does not come across as a trolling attempt. Just seems like an appeal to working class photo op.

[–] Asafum@feddit.nl 2 points 40 minutes ago* (last edited 39 minutes ago)

It could have been anywhere else, but he chooses the place she said she worked at before and that his campaign claims to have investigated to say she never actually did.

I think it's like 50/50, for the working class but also to stab at her. I think he even said something like "I worked at McDonald's 15 minutes longer than she did"

[–] JeSuisUnHombre@lemm.ee 2 points 46 minutes ago

It doesn't immediately come across that way but it was definitely a motivating factor for him. He makes a comment about it in the video of this and has been claiming she never worked there for at least a few weeks.

[–] Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world 2 points 3 hours ago

You should cross post this to political weirdos.

[–] ChicoSuave@lemmy.world 3 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

The government parking tags on the window of that vehicle in the drive thru window helps pull together how lazy and cynical each picture is.

[–] rc__buggy@sh.itjust.works 15 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

sigh, those look like inspection stickers to me. no need to make shit up, this whole farce is enough.

[–] citrusface@lemmy.world 9 points 3 hours ago

Confirming those are just inspection stickers.
