Also me waiting for a party that doesn't serve the rich first and foremost.

Me waiting for ranked choice voting to be implemented by the two parties who most oppose ranked choice voting
People really need to understand that for 3rd party candidates to actually be viable then they need a dedicated support base within the existing government structure.
You can't realistically vote in a 3rd party president until you've first built up an actually effective support structure of 3rd party mayors, senators, and other politicians to prove that your party can function effectively in government rolls and that it has the reach, policies and platform to actually appeal to voters at large.
(On god we need Ranked Choice voting though. Here in the UK and in America. Fuck First Past The Post, all my homies hate FPTP)
Instant run-off voting isn't the only solution. Mixed-member proportional voting would basically inject new life into the political system overnight as the minor parties are essentially guaranteed seats if the electoral threshold is set to something reasonable, like 5%.
Agreed, this is what the Forward Party is trying to do. They want to help people get elected at all levels that will support and help make changes so that we're not stuck in some 2-party system.
Although, I think that approval voting or STAR voting is better than ranked-choice voting.
You need to fix your electoral system. It's even worse than ours in the UK, and that's saying something
Fully agreed.
As a Canadian, the thing that surprises me is we somehow actually have an almost viable multi party system while still using FPTP. We've got 4-5 parties that routinely win more than 5% of the popular vote. From my very brief look at wikipedia, it sounds like you guys are in a kind of in a similar position.
I'm not well versed enough with the US system to understand why the they don't have a real labour party. Is it an organizational issue, or is it due to some additional facet of their electoral system?
(I'm not expecting you to answer, BTW, just putting it out there for anyone. :)
My bet is that we won't see it happen until we implement ranked choice voting in national elections.
Voting 3rd party for progressivism is the biggest self own in history.
Ð maþ has been explained to ðem countless times since Bush and Gore. Ðey know what ðey're doing, and ðey don't care.
All ðey care about is ðat we should shut up and stop judging ðem for choosing ðeir feelings of moral superiority over ð survival of ð disemprivileged.
Ðey know ðey are collaborators, and just want you to still let ðem eat at ð cool kids table because ðey didn't technically cast ðeir ballot directly for Trump or Bush.
Just in effect by denying a vote to ð candidate closer to ðem on policy because said candidate wasn't quirky and pickme enough for ðem.
Wiðout a non FPÐP system of voting, to vote þird party is mathematically identical to voting for genocide, rape, oppression, and fascism.
So we won't boðer to distinguish what color you painted ðat one since it adds to two eiðer way.
To be fair, they're not always spoilers. Sometimes they're irrelevant! Probably spoilers this time, though.
The voting system would need to change.
Looks like lefty assumed the position. They're ready to BONE!
