Severely injured is understanding it. That dark spot on the couch is blood from his hand that got blown clean off by a tank shell. He also took 2 idf soldiers out with grenades before the final sniper shot hit.
he died from a second tank round being fired at the building actually. but yeah you're correct otherwise.
I've only seen text supporting the tank line. All photo evidence seems like a sniper hit him in the left side of his jaw.
