Remember how countries from the global South were threatened with sanctions and pulling investments (ahem, global sweatshops) just for abstaining?

Well this vote doesn't appear to have any real world effects, in fact any such vote would just get vetoed by the USA because for some reason we gave world superpowers Veto privileges when we set the UN up after WWII.
