Yes that is why I loved it so much, the first two were pretty simplistic and while I liked them they still seemed to be just fan service and like a fighting game aimed at kids. Tenkaichi 3 really elevated the series introducing a ton of new combo mechanics and meta. It finally became a proper fighting game though not quite up to the level of the classics, but close. And then every game after that was not a proper sequel and were more simplistic again and I was disappointed in that.
