Ewwww! Hard pass.

I'll keep with the old way thanks. Sure, pytorch installs are a pain in the butt, but that's why I'm pretty sure a pre-packaged version is not going to make life easier. I also despise electron apps.

I realise as somebody who isn't afraid of a little command line Linux, I'm not the target audience. However, is anyone who is using diffusion models right now... especially someone who isn't scared off by noodles... asking for this? The software is for experimenters who enjoy building their own flows. It's mode of operation is "some assembly required".

Kodi isn't commercialised. I'm not sure what you're referring to. It's open source and always has been.

I also have the *arrs running on that same box so new episodes appear automatically. They require a browser or other client, so I didn't include it in my list. They just run in the background.

But you live in a world where there are few union jobs

I live in a country where ¼ to ⅕ of all workers are in a union, anybody can join a union and the current party in power receives major funding from the unions.

Maybe that gives me a different perspective.

The AI bubble is currently grinding my gears on this. "XXX is an open source model". No, it's not. Do I have access to all of the information necessary to recreate it? No, I don't as nobody releases training data.

Training data is the source of these models. Without it, they are just free use.

King Charles arrives in an Australia with mixed feelings about the monarchy.

Why should the King have mixed emotions?

Which is a shit rationale frankly. Dude had an arranged marriage that didn't work out and only got to marry the person he wanted to much later in life.

Given the guy has always been a proponent of environmentalism and sustainable industry I think people should give him a lot more respect as an individual, regardless of what you may think about the institution.

It always got me that the maths I was doing in electrical engineering outclassed what my friend was doing for his astrophysics degree. He was probably at the better university too (Debatable for the subjects in question, but both really good).

Did I need that level of maths? No, but it was compulsory for the first 3 years so not much option.

Well you need a good handle on probability to understand transistors these days at least.

“XL Bully cats” implies large, aggressive cats that could eat small children,

They already exist. I think they are called tyjres or something similar.

The trouble is that "core" is just that. The heart of the processor. There's a lot of shared state in the caches and the TLBs which is all common to multiple cores.
