You should educate yourself by reading The Problem of Political Leadership in the Formation and Development of the Nation and the Modern State in Italy from Gramsci's Prison Notebooks and studying trasformismo in Italian history instead of infantilizing an entire marginalized group over their justified stance against the system currently genociding their friends and family 👍 trust me, you'll learn a lot about our current political situation.

Lemmy's two main developers are communists so it's a "platform built by Communists" just like @Cowbee@lemmy.ml said.

Spaces have nothing to do with Discord. They're just a way of grouping multiple Matrix rooms together into one "space" like how Discord channels are grouped into one "server."

Call bullshit on what? Him being the most listened to artist at one point is just fact. He's very popular with the latin american community worldwide. Moreso a couple of years ago before the fame went to his head.

"Allegedly", "believed to", "could".

This is bad jouralism simply fanning United States fear mongering. The only news is that Cuba is upgrading some of their facilities. Whether or not China is involved is none of the US's business.

It's an unofficial open-source daemon used by alternative Spotify clients. I used it once for a terminal Spotify client. It's a pretty neat piece of software.

KDE Connect mounts your phone as a network folder in Dolphin. You could copy multiple files and paste them into a folder in your phone through Dolpin as a workaround.

The best information I can find on getting Guix on the Raspberry Pi is the issues page for nonguix https://gitlab.com/nonguix/nonguix/-/issues/128

Not directly related to this blog post but from NixOS discourse forum, a tl;dr from another person about the NixOS drama here :

If you’re looking for a TL;DR of the situation, here it is:

Nix community had a governance crisis for years. While there has been progress on building explicit teams to govern the project, it continued to fundamentally rely on implicit authority and soft power

Eelco Dolstra, as one of the biggest holders of this implicit authority and soft power, has continuously abused this authority to push his decisions, and to block decisions that he doesn’t like

Crucially, he also used his implicit authority to block any progress on solving this governance crisis and establishing systems with explicit authority

This has led uncountably many people to burn out over the issue, and culminated in writing an open letter to have Eelco resign from all formal positions in the project and take a 6 month break from any involvement in the community

Eelco wrote a response that largely dismisses the issues brought up, and advertises his company’s community as a substitute for Nix community
