I like that this one is simple enough that even I, with my very terrible German, can understand it πŸ˜ƒ

Whoops! Thanks for the spoiler tip. I'm using the Sync for Lemmy app and used the built-in spoiler tool, which apparently hasn't been updated from the Reddit version.

Neat! That address / intersection is a five minute walk from me! Thanks for pointing it out, I wouldn't have noticed it otherwise (with the ad being so absurd)

I kind of wish I could un-read this article. Holy fuck.

Hah, I don't find him terribly believable as a heel, he seems too wholesome and cool.

That was such a good match! Now we need Takeshita vs Okada to unify those belts

πŸ˜‚ Since I watched it last night it was fresh in my mind, but I could decipher Takeshita's hair and trunks through the blurriness, plus the white ropes. If I didn't just watch it I would not have gotten it.

Takeshita's English is getting so much better too, he spoke a bit at the media scrum after the PPV. He's a beast!

Is that Takeshita?

Neat, does that mean you also have Canadian citizenship? It seems that our grandparents' generation were leaving Ontario for the UK more frequently than I would have expected - Ricky Gervais' father for example was a Franco-Ontarian.

We're reminded about the Commonwealth whenever the monarchy is in the news, but I don't really know what purpose it serves beyond acting as a reminder of the history of our country. I don't believe the current generation feels much of a connection to the UK the way previous generations did. When I was a child I think there was much more of a feeling of connection (in fact two of my teachers in primary school were English expats, including a lovely little old lady named Mrs. Readey, who retired back to England once our year was done), but lately it feels like more people feel connected to the US, probably since their culture is propagated everywhere. And we generally don't think about the fact that Charles is also our king, as the monarchy has de facto zero influence on our government. I still like to periodically bring up the Commonwealth as a whimsical little nod to our history.

What did you think of Toronto / Ontario?

(This is my first post sent from Sync, so hopefully I don't mess this up too badly...)

This might already exist, or might just generally be a stupid idea, but here we go:

I share images from Lemmy / Sync pretty frequently, primarily as direct images to Facebook Messenger. However, Messenger doesn't like WEBP files, and quite a few instances seem to be using WEBP instead of JPEG or PNG.

It'd be a time-saver (literally minutes a day!) and reduction of friction if there was an option to convert WEBP to JPEG on-the-fly when sharing. Right now I have to check the image format, and if it's a WEBP I need to download and edit / re-save before sharing.

I was going to say this would be a nice value-add for Ultra, but I'm already subscribed πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

I bet this issue doesn't actually affect that many users (stupid North America and its reliance on Facebook Messenger), but it does ever so slightly annoy me, so I figured might as well shoot my shot and make a feature request.

It's annoying enough that if Sync was OSS I would have submitted a PR already.

All that said: Sync is great and I'm so happy it was transposed from Reddit.
