It could be a secondary account, but I would guess that it's the one they currently belong to? @kbin.cafe

I think I would be okay with 8-10 year iterations. 3-4 years is a ridiculous money grab. I haven't owned an XBOX since the 360 though, so...

There would be a lot fewer old people by the end of the month... (ICU Nurse)

Agreed, stepping down is a bit heavy handed. There are a lot of moving parts, it's okay to take time for your self and let others take up the reigns temporarily if you need to. I've seen quite a lot of merges on the core recently - so it's obvious things are moving in the right direction.

Yeah, I'm still seeing this bug when trying to post a thread or a picture post. "Link" posting seems to work alright though, but I can't post any other type of content... It's been this way for about a month. I'm sort of losing interest since I can't really post threads - I can only comment.

Not really, though. Rigid structure helps with ADHD, but only when someone else is enforcing the structure. Prepubescent kids with ADHD aren't typically capable of maintaining their own structure. They aren't neurotypical, it's more than distraction and energy, they have a functioning issue. They can't tune out all the stimulus that normal brains do, and because of it they miss a lot of social cues that help with development.

My son has ADHD and no amount of reorienting our family environment would help him - he could (and has) literally be in a bare concrete room with nothing but his thoughts and get distracted and slam his hands together making exploding/punching sounds for hours, where a typical kid would get bored in seconds.

There is an extension called "Social Fixer" that brings back the sort by new and allows you to filter out all the 'sponsored' and 'suggested' bullshit. It's not being actively updated anymore, but it still works fine.

It's ridiculous that I can pay for MLB TV and the ONLY game I'm unable to watch is my local team...

To add to this; because of how federation works, having an account on artemis.camp gets you access to the same content using the app.

This was totally the answer - it appears having any instance blocked at all is causing threads to be filtered out of view, even my own. Unblocking all domains fixes the issue for me and there are a LOT more recent posts than I was seeing previously.

I don't think @ actually pings a notification to users. He does respond to direct messages sometimes though.

Not sure if it is a coincidence, but that is the same domain I had blocked as well - unblocking fixed the issue for me too.

Could anyone assist in how to report this problem as an issue on codeberg?

I was only able to post this as a "Link"

Strangely, a post is made as I can view it from my profile, but it's just not visible in the magazine unless I log out.

Here is the error I receive.
The post is visible in my profile.
Not visible in the magazine.
Unless I log out, then it IS visible ...

I just don't know how to word this to report an issue. It's so strange.

I have not been able to post "Thread" or "Photo" for over a week. There is another post about this as well, but it doesn't seem to be seen by many either.

Is there any chance that we can get a weekly/biweekly, or periodic, update on what is new with kbin? @ernest has done a couple in the past. I doubt I would be the only one interested in hearing what is new or what is coming down the pipe more on a regular basis.

I'm aware that I can look at the codeberg and see what is being worked on, but I'm not quite as dev saavy as a lot of you are and really appreciate some plain spoken explainers sometimes.

If not, that's cool too. I just thought it might help keep people involved and retain users if we could see a list of exciting new additions, updates, and things to look forward to.

Does the option to add an image via URL not work? I have tried in both Brave and Firefox desktop browsers and the Brave mobile app - clicking the "From URL" or "Upload File" doesn't appear to do anything.

The only thing that does anything from this menu is clicking the filepath to upload a file from local.

Am I missing something?

While everyone is, understandably, upset that reddit has removed the mod teams in a few of the protesting subs - I think this is a prime opportunity to flood equivalent magazines/communities with content that would have potentially been added there. Be the change we want to see here, sort of thing.

Any other subs that should be added to this list? Comment below and I'll edit this to include them.

Can I just rant a little to you all?

I've tried numerous times to help people from reddit set up an account and get started on Kbin (and lemmy), but 4 out of 5 times people can't seem to grasp the concept of registering an account and starting to use this platform. Even breaking it down into 2 steps, with direct links... They get angry, and then ragequit their attempt in a huff saying how it's too fucking complicated and it will never take off because it's so hard.

Ok, I get that the fediverse is complicated if you think deeply about all the interconnectivity and federation etc, but there is no reason you even have to think about any of it to create an account and get started. Like, at all.

It reminds me so much of my 70/y old mother-in-law not immediately knowing how to work a tv remote and shoving it at me after 1.5 seconds saying "here, I can't figure this out". When in reality all she had to do was press the fucking big red button...

I'm just so frustrated with people's complete lack of ability to help themselves.
