OK. I'm a fan of the comic. There's a fascist villain that's going to be introduced, but the dad isn't it. The dad's character explores, for a bit, the trauma that following orders blindly can bring about.

nukes is a good idea. you want to maximize damage/card against the timekeeper. Playing too many low cost cards will make you lose against them. Unfortunately, there's no way to know if you're going to get them as a final boss when you start act 1. I did an anarchist run. I had both Goldman AND Berkman, but they constantly spawn zero cost cards which doesn't really help against the time keeper

That was pretty radicalizing for me as a kid. Seeing these people just give up in Florida despite all sorts of fishy stuff going on. Then 911. Then the MASSIVE protests against escalation into Iraq all over the world. It was incredible and fruitless. It ended up being incredibly disappointing. Protests literally do nothing.
Depending on the poll, Harris has a minimal lead or trump has a massive lead.
