Look, either make "Ken Burns' The Silmarillion" already or let the franchise rest.

I haven't gotten my shit together and researched specific models yet, but I've been looking into this a bit myself, and from what I've read, Sceptre appears to be one of the better brands for completely dumb TVs these days.

They make loosely braided weighted blankets. They won't be as cool as this, but they allow for plenty of weight while still maintaining good airflow. And a far lower risk of scrotum/labia/nipple tragedy.

Where is TNG "Masks"? Sorry Brent, but that's gonna be a skip from me every time.

That is why I decline the title of Iron Cook and accept only the lesser title of "Zinc Saucier", which I just made up. Also, it comes with double prize money.

That tracks. It does seem like there could have been a list of "213 things Curzon Dax is no longer allowed to do in Federation space", a la Skippy's List.

Because otherwise we wouldn't have Walter Murphy's "A Fifth of Beethoven".

Holup, is this real or fan art? When did they make Cable a twink?

Mulled wine here. It's delicious and it makes me feel medieval-fancy.

That's a fair assessment. There are a ridiculous number of classes and subclasses each with their own quirks. And that's without getting into multiclassing or Wrath's mythic path system. I've definitely spent 20+ minutes leveling up before.

Do you like JRPGs? Yakuza: Like a Dragon is fairly recent and has a sequel (that I haven't gotten to play yet). The story is NOT your typical RPG fare, it's a modern drama about an ex-gangster trying to get back on his feet after prison (it gets emotional, I cried). But the combat is a classic turn-based RPG and it's fun, stylish, and just barely complex enough to stay engaging.

The graphics are much simpler than BG3, but Owlcat has done some fantastic work with their Pathfinder games.

Wrath of the Righteous is much more polished and expanded than Kingmaker, but they're both great. They both have the option to play in turn-based like BG3, or real time with pause like the old BG games.

I've been playing the Guardians of the Galaxy game lately, and after realizing how similar Lae'zel and Gamora are, I know I have to reinstall BG3 for a Guardians playthrough.

STARRING...

  • Tav as Petyr O'Quill, a.k.a. BARD-LORD - Half-elf, dual crossbows, high Cha/low Int. Torn between Lore for Cutting Words, or Swords for more pew pew.
  • Lae'zel as Gamora, the deadliest woman in the ~~galaxy~~ Sword Coast - All I really need here is modding her an emo haircut.
  • Astarion as Rocket - They're both foul-mouthed and quick to anger. Their backstories actually have a lot of thematic similarity, being twisted into someone else's weapon. Probably a Sorc to accommodate Rocket's love of explosions, unless the Artificer mod is any good. Could have Shovel as a stand-in for Groot? I may try to mod him into a gnome so that he too is small and adorable.

AND MAYBE...?

That leaves one party slot, which I see going one of two ways:

  • Karlach/Minsc as Drax the Destroyer - Big, gullible, excitable, destroys stuff.
  • Minthara as Nebula - I feel like she'd have the same vibe in a good party. Dragging her around with the misfits I'm turning into begrudging heroes might make for great banter.

Suggestions on builds/mods/things to do for maximum chaos and therefor fun? Stories of your own weird themed parties? Arguments about my awful flarking decisions?

Not to flood the community, but several people seemed to like the last one. So here's another taste of bardcore, this time a collab from two of the greats.

I fuckin' love bardcore, and Hildy is the godsdamned QUEEN!

A haunting medieval style cover of NIN's classic, Hildegard's version seems to tell the tale of a regretful immortal crushed under the weight of outliving everyone they connect with.

And a question for the comments, any interest in a possible c/bardcore community? Or is there one my search missed?

I read the lyrics for this on reddit a few years back, and just learned there was a recording. Would be great for for a bard doing an adventure at the Yawning Portal.

Ain't no sunshine when she's gone

It's not warm when she's away

Ain't no sunshine when she's gone

And she's always gone too long

Anytime she goes away

One of my favorite genres, always looking for more. Bonus points if it's currently on streaming.

I've watched the absolute hell out of That Mitchell and Webb Look, Kids in the Hall, Whitest Kids U Know, and obviously SNL and MadTV but both of those had a lot of ups and downs.

I saw the one season each that Astronomy Club and The Moth Effect had and they were both pretty good. I've seen some A Bit of Fry and Laurie, but can't find a good place to stream it. TripTank was basically a sketch show with cartoons, and I liked that a lot too.

I haven't tried these, but someone mentioned them the other day as being fantastic. I was looking for another good CRPG after I finish my current Pathfinder WotR run so I wishlisted the bundle, and apparently had great timing.

TAS 1x05, immediately thought of those celebrity name rhymes they did in Community.

I used to play the hell out of 1 and 2 back in the PS2 days, but I haven't touched the series beyond that, and haven't even played 1/2 much in the last 10 years.

How would you rate 4 in comparison? I noticed it was on sale in the Switch eShop, and I'd love to have one of the series to play on the go.

What I loved about the ones I played:

  • Story had a good balance of comedy and heart
  • Flexible and fun character building, with decent enough defined classes to get you started
  • Tons of post-game/side content (I didn't like every piece of it, but I liked how much there was to try.)
  • CAPTAIN GORDON, DEFENDER OF EARTH
  • Perfect geochains, though I was usually too smoothbrain for it.

What I didn't like:

  • Item world, IIRC worse in 1 than 2?
  • Adell's siblings
  • Demon court thing?
