Note that this is not a request for review bombing, but rather a request for your opinion.

Despite all the rage reddit is getting, more than half of the reviews are five stars, which means the people complaining are not expressing their opinion through the "proper channel".

And remember to be honest in the review, don't just invent problems for the sake of it. That defeats the purpose and just comes out as griefing.

@edinbruh Does anyone treat app reviews seriously?

Anecdotal evidence so take with grain of salt, but it must have some effect cause of how many apps beg you to rate it 5 stars

[–] kingthrillgore@kbin.social 1 points 1 year ago

Any time an app asks me to rate it, I immediately go and rate it one star.

@Sentinian True. I don't use Google app store (or Apple) since years and totally forgot that. Maybe the algorithm of the shop will give recommendations based on the ratings.

It won't deter those that are already using reddit on pc to download the app on their phones, but it may deter new users if their first experience is a shitty advertisement riddled app.

I've been watching it since the initial API changes announcement.

Started at 3.9, it's at 3.1 now.

The Apple Store has it at 4.8, some comments are claiming 1 star reviews are being deleted

[–] Madison_rogue@kbin.social 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

There are like 2.7 million reviews. At a rating of 4.8 it would take tens of thousands to reduce that by just a tenth of a point even if they rated it as a 1.

Math don’t real

If you sort by newest almost every comment has been 1 star for a couple of months already. It’s just hard to break through millions of reviews throughout the years. Time-weighed rating system would be more accurate.
