Walked by a beaver dam yesterday. Stunning what a few small mammals can do. Several acres flooded providing a very different, and far more diverse, ecosystem.

Yes but you see tHe ReSiDenTs - human residents now, remember? Designated by GOD to hold dominion over the earth?!?! Do you even accept Jesus Christ as your lord and saviour?? - the residents were complaining. Can't have that.

To be fair, I give Idaho Fish & Game props for trying something to keep them alive rather than just slaughtering them wholesale like a lot of other places did.
