I can't even imagine what earning double a living wage would have done to my psyche in my twenties. I'm middle aged and just now finding stability - and let me tell you, it wasn't because I kept working hard. If I'd just kept working hard, I'd still be poor.

Thatโ€™s the problem with the value of hard work - itโ€™s hardly ever decided by the one working. People who are struggling or have struggled know that first hand. The value of hard work is the value of being held hostage.
