I installed FreeBSD on an old computer to use it as a server. What are the best next step? (lemmy.ml)

I'm asking like packages/ports to install and things to install. I don't have a desktop environment yet, but I'm thinking about using i3

For mail server you'll need:

  • dovecot
  • dovecot-pigeonhole
  • postfix
  • amavis
  • opendmarc
  • opendkim

Also be prepared, the mail server setup is not trivial.

Additionally, you'll need:

  • local-unbound
  • chrony

I can't help you for jellyfin, never installed it manually - I run it on unRaid Linux in docker.
