In short, oligarchs want to get richer and want more power (there's never enough), you would think that poor conditions would wake people up, but as long as there less fortunate ones as us we are fine with it. It is easy to set us up against each other by telling that our misfortune is because of minorities and immigrants.

There's a book called On Freedom by Timothy Snyder that talks about it. I think everyone should read it. Once you are aware of the mechanisms it is easy to see.

You would think that Republicans breaking social security would surely lose them votes, but it is really easy to manipulate their base and tell them that there's not enough money in SSN because immigrants are getting free money and once again we are fighting with each other and once again oligarchs walk away with more wealth.

It's just a photo op, as long as his base believes he is fine.

BTW: what ever happened to photo op of feeding the homeless? Are we finally acknowledging that fast food worker rate is still powerty?

Knowing trump, any of the scenes close to work involved a stunt double.

As long as DOJ would serve an indictment that would be a huge win.

The problem is that those Reaganomics affect younger much worse than older. He probably still did fine and that's why he didn't understand what others are complaining.

It's the mentality that billionaires use to impose on us. Yes, our life sucks, but it is not bad, because there are people for whom or sucks much more.

I am currently reading book called On Freedom by Prof. Timothy Snyder and is really eye opening, how we are being manipulated to hurt our and our children's future. I think everyone should read it.

You would think that maybe he would do photo op volunteering to help the hungry, but working at McDonald's is apparently more hot for politicians right now.

Seems like they are operating in now or never mode. Amy crime committed won't matter if trump wins. Looks like we didn't place any meaningful deterrent for things we learned in 2016 and 2020.

Searching, shows that there are few, but not exactly the same design.

For political accomplishments, she did managed to get invited to meeting with putin. You can't be just anybody. You have to give it to her.

As for the qualifications, trump showed us that you can do it at your own leisure, nobody will fire you if you won't do it.

Twitter is for narcissists, and when they say Mastodon is not as good as twitter they really mean that there's not as many people watching them as on Twitter. So Bluesky gaining 500,000 new accounts could help in making it "better".

Yeah I was surprised about it. That tracking parameter is one that I notice the most and almost everyone includes it. It made me think that feature is either broken, or in misunderstanding what it supposed to do.

So I ran Power Delete Suite as I periodically do. I have it configured to edit a comment and then delete it. It deletes comments that are older than 1 week old.

What was unusual was that within minutes I got the red envelope. And looking at it there was a response to a comment that I wrote 2 years ago.

So first thing is that as many were saying Reddit undeletes comments. I initially ignored that I saw some comments that I thought were deleted, but I assume it was because subreddits were locked and that's why they were invisible to Power Delete Suite, but this was on r/programming which was unlocked for quite some time (not sure if it ever was locked).

Second thing is the response within minutes.

So my 2 year old comment still exists and it's not showing up on my profile. I wouldn't even know about it is not for that response.

Of course this could be a coincidence, the account that responded to me is 9 years old, the content of it seems normal, although I saw comments on r/ChatGPT.

Though the timing bugs me off. If the comment is not from a real person maybe when Reddit restored it the AI code thought it was a new comment and responded to it.

Another thing that contributes to my suspicion of chatbots being deployed is that I noticed since the API protest and after they unlocked subreddits is that I get more upvotes and more responses than I used to.

Anyone observed something similar?
