No they're not, guy. I aggressively dismiss any legal vomit that claims they are.

I don't care what Altman said. These are megacorporations using buzzwords. No need to mutilate ourselves into idiotic commercials for them.

It's not a 'bromance' if they're not dudes. They are companies.

Congrats on getting a job!

Joyless money-hoarding is why I'm currently able to joylessly pay rent during this terrifying bout of unemployment

I prefer pay walls if I can buy a single article. I hate how everything is a subscription now.

Found the guy from the heater + aquarium + massagepad + paper + coffee + toilet paper + soap + HVAC +sugar lobby!

They are going to regret this.

I really hope they do. But now is a good time to put the squeeze on devs. Lots of people are having a hard time finding a software job and they'll be extra reluctant to do a mass exodus.

Why do you need curtains on your windows?

To make sure the whole world isn't just a window for the HR department. I can have "dissident" views, or just talk trash with my friends, and not get fired since it wasn't at the office.

To make sure real dissidents (from totalitarian countries) can express their political views.

So a lady can send her husband feet pics without some secret agent spy gawking at them too.

So I can share my family's secret BBQ sauce recipe with my cousin without Arby's stealing it (they have eyes everywhere).

But these are all specific things. The truth is that we simply cannot trust institutions with all our data. I don't need a reason for privacy. They need a reason to have my info. Security is a legit reason to seek citizens' info, generally, but you should need a specific security-related reason to access a specific person's data.

Understood, thanks!

The videos are AI because I don't have any money. The novel is written by myself, me, a human being who has no money because I spent the last three years writing a novel.

Edit:

the voice is also me, a human, who spent months huddled in a closet narrating the audiobook version.

They have electrolytes

I planned this book for 20 years, spent 4 years researching, writing, editing, and narrating it. The paperback, e-book, and audio versions will be available on October 21!

They should mind their own business and stop pretending to be asleep.

I'm in Canada, so options available in Canada are especially appreciated.
