I strongly second this. Use stock Windows 11 for a few days then try this. The difference is immensse.

I don't know what the screenshot is trying to say. I don't know anything about NAFTA and USMCA.

You underestimate how deeply engrained capitalist bootlicking is in the mass consciousness here

I don't know which ones honestly. I always bounce off if they have their audiovisual opiod dispenser on. There are a legion of those, all almost identical differing only on the language and the retina burning colour scheme. I know that they watch Republic TV sometimes, and the channel which is the cesspit of that annoying dickhead Arnab something.

Edit: Might not be named Arnab but I am certain the name is Bengali.

Recently Ratan Tata (from the Tata family) died of natural causes. This was the cue for all the bootlickers to come out of the woodworks with cringe obituaries. Like this:

As you wake up this morning and switch of your AC (Voltas) and look at the time (Titan) today one will not be able to dress to work (Westside/Zara/Zudio) this morning nor drink a cup of tea or coffee (Tetley/Starbucks) nor drive (TataMotors) or fly out (Vistara/AI) to work or shop for grocery (Big Basket) or Electronics (Chroma) nor make a call (Telecom) nor watch the news (TataSky) nor dine out (Taj) or do business (TCS) without paying homage to a wonderful human being and an architect by profession in the true sense...that has touched several lives and will be missed dearly

If Tata is hindutva

Tatas are not Hindu. I am not sure what their religious belief is called but it is something like Parsi or Zorastrian. They could be Hindutva themselves but it's unlikely. They are cozy with BJP because they benefit greatly from their pro-corporation policies.

My Hindu fascists parents are addicted to corporate owned cable TV news. They cannot avert their gaze from the fast moving graphics, the bright eye-popping colours and the newscaster who is for some reason constantly shouting and is a thinly veiled far right demagogue. It is like watching a toddler who cannot help but stare at the TV screen. Even when passively absorbing it I can feel my soul getting poisoned and they watch it non-stop whenever they have free time.

Out of the 800,000 people each year who committed suicide, on average perhaps more capable than the rest of us, what if a few would have been instrumental in developing fusion power?

I don't like arguments like this. Especially when it comes from someone in the tech field. It seems to imply that climate change is a technical problem and that some silver bullet solution from a savant will solve it. Meanwhile in the real world, the economic and political system has been blowing all the increasing energy capacity on useless stuff like cryptocurrency and now AI.

"Bosses" at big companies sure do become a lot more courageous after leaving their throne

Want to prepare myself for the next game I play. I really like the idea of maxing as many social links as I can. There are guides for this but I like to navigate these waters on my own.

Between doing the story dungeons, cultivating stats and advancing social links, is there a general advice on how to go about it?

For example, one thing I get really anxious about is trying to complete a dungeon if it is available in one day, since in the games I have seen it takes up both the day and evening activity slots.

Any advice for this? Thanks.

There is some Japanese spam that we are being affected with. Some of you might have noticed.

I have set up automated removal for it. Please report if you see a spam post that is 2 minutes old or more.

We are not sure what the point of this spam is but if it is anything like the last time it is probably an outcome of a fight somewhere in the Japanese fediverse. Not sure over what though.

Here in India, media is a tool of the fascists. I am ashamed to say it but the concept of journalistic standards is alien to the audience here. The media literally parrots the IOF line, to such a degree of precision that makes me think that I underestimated the sheer evil that can exist in the heart of human beings.

But India is a kind of a special case in the Global South, since its an Islamophobic Hindu fascist state and the preposterous IOF talking points slot well with the racist talking points.

But I am wondering what the situation is like everywhere else. Please fill me in.

Meanwhile Canada continues to be a parody of itself:

All public torrents I have found are dead. Anyone knows a place where I can find this movie in decent quality? (At least 1080p.) Thanks.

Anyone tried it? Thoughts?

spoilerLooks like it is gonna be your typical Persona type game with element based turn based combat and social links. Don't mind that though. Always welcome fresh Persona slop.

There are some mechanic changes which seem nice.

The game kinda turns the concept of fantasy around where the protag holds dear a fantasy book, but the fantasy is essentially a story of our (human) world. And the powerful boss monsters in the game are called humans. Personally I don't like this. I find it a bit immersion breaking. But maybe it will grow on me.

And yeah the performance on my laptop feels a bit lacking. Only a gtx 1650 and i5 processor but the game cannot consistently maintain 60 on low or intermediate graphics. I will try it on PS5 later and see if it runs well.

I downloaded it a few days ago. My first impression is good so far. I don't like strategy games because of monke brain but with this one I've been having fun.

The battle system is novel as far as I know. At first I was a bit disappointed that you don't get to control individual characters but I've grown to like the system since then. I am playing on "tactical" difficulty and I retried the first battle three times to get it "right".

It has the usual JRPG (a little bit nauseating) pro-monarchy premise which TBH I don't mind in fantasy settings, but it feels tired and uncreative. But I have been able to look past that because the rest of the game is fine. The animations look really nice without needing much sophistication. The English voice acting was a bit cringe so I switched to the Japanese one.

I don't know if the game will be able to grab me till the end (unlikely because of commitment issues) but it is a nice surprise to be sure.

News article: https://www.msn.com/en-in/money/news/google-backed-dotpe-s-apis-expose-sensitive-data/ar-AA1ra3xx

This startup provides a shitty digital menu for restaurants. You scan a qr code that takes you to a terrible website where you submit your order. Once its ready the waiter brings it to you.

Someone opened their ordering webpage on a PC and looked at the API calls being made using their browser's dev tools. Turns out the entire API is public. This person was able to order on behalf of another table and view records of all the sales that took place at the restaurant.

The funniest thing is, instead of disclosing this to DotPe, the person instead wrote a blog post and posted it on Hacker News for the updoots. While describing this situation as a "vulnerability" feels extremely charitable, I think he should have covered his bases to avoid lawsuits.

Yesterday I accidentally wiped my Firefox profile. Upon creating a new one I was hit with the realisation of just how many shit defaults Firefox has. This made me consider using a fork which un-enshittifies Firefox.

There is only one that I know of, LibreWolf. Thankfully it seems actively maintained. So on Windows I have started using that for now. On Linux I still use Firefox because the enlightened repository maintainers don't allow any Firefox/Chromium forks and I don't wanna use Flatpak or pacakge it myself.

Are there any other forks worth considering?
