I would absolutely be happy for my kids to land that type of job as a start to their working life. Everyone needs some sort of a first job and work experience on their resume before they can hope to get a better job.
In a sane timeline, this wouldn't be newsworthy.
Then again, in a sane timeline, much of what Trump does wouldn't be newsworthy.
Don't assume his campaign is being run by the best people.
All it takes to work for him is to be a sycophant.
In a sane world "grab them by the pussy" would have been more than enough to kill his chances of ever getting elected for anything.
On the other hand, she did get convicted and is facing some consequences, so that's a small bright spot in the story.
If you want an economy where every citizen has a chance to be middle class, you have to find some other source of labor to do working class jobs.
Or labour jobs could pay middle class wages, like they did a couple of generations ago.
That's a problem across all types of business.
If you are cutting wages or laying off people, there is less overall ability to pay for things. You're basically cutting your customers ability to pay.
Even if your employees aren't your target market, they probably buy stuff from the people who are your customers.
This psychotic race to the bottom among business owners is just shooting yourself in the foot with extra steps.
My kids only knew Linux from the first day they used a computer.
They didn't have any difficulty transitioning between that at home and the chromebooks or windows desktops the school had.
Maybe if it was a week of swing shifts?
In addition, I would like to see design engineers spend some time in the repair shop working on the things they are designing.
Maybe after they've burned their forearm a few times, things like putting the oil filter directly above the catalytic converter wouldn't happen.

Try getting a job of any kind without some sort of work experience on your resume.
If you don't have some sort of demondtratable record of showing up and not getting fired, it's hard to even get an interview.
