Wait isn't Ireland an EU tax haven?

That explains why their tertiary education union passed a resolution stating its members have a right to express anti-Zionist ideology.

Bernie was a bit slow to get going, but he's also one of the most vocal US senators against Israel.

There are 4 years between this presidential election and the next, during which time that goodwill can go into negative numbers and the electorate can do nothing.

Oh, I was talking medium to long term. In the short term yeah, nobody's gonna stop Israel.

I don't think Israel has the ability or desire to spend money manipulating everyone's politics. Only the US seems to be fine with it for some reason, which in part explains the difference in attitude between the EU and US over Israeli actions throughout the past year.

Wow, that's fast. I edited the comment shortly after writing it so look at that first.

In the short term, maybe, but in the long term this behavior will cost them everything. The way they do things is an inherently unsustainable house of cards propped up by US goodwill that they're squandering away. And they are squandering it, because that shit isn't infinite no matter how much the Israeli public would like to think otherwise.

I'd say number 2. The people selling the service are scammers, but probably not dumb. Or maybe thet are Idk.

Egypt has a half-decent army and a peace treaty so probably impossible. The Gaza blockade also relies on Egyptian cooperation. Israel is like... That, but I don't think even them want to return to 70s era Arab relations. Jordan has Saudi Arabia support and a peace treaty, so again no reason to rock the boat. Syria, though? Definitely on the cards. They don't have a peace treaty and Syria is a failed stated who only have allies in Russia and Iran. The blowback will be disastrous, but Israel has proven they don't care about that.

Apart from the obvious American dollars, it's mainly against Hamas due to it's history and ties with the Muslim Brotherhood.

The recent (post-2014) levels of dedication to their imperialist overlords is mostly American dollars. We've had pro-US administrations, but the Sisi one is the first to cooperate with Israel this much.

Still, a significant chunk of the country is also anti-Israel. So I don't expect it to respond too kindly to Israel's recent aggression. Maybe just a little more politely.

They, or well we to be more accurate, aren't doing anything. Sisi can't afford to say, much less do, anything because he both needs to maintain the bare minimum of appearances against the Egyptian populace and can't afford to actually make an enemy of Israel and the US.
