I know you don’t get a lot of comments on these posts, but they are appreciated by some of us nonetheless! Thanks for your weekly efforts! :)

Broke out Ragusa finally, and played a couple solo games with it. I really enjoyed the “other players benefit from your action” aspect of it (for clarification, you’re placing houses at the corners of resource hexagons, and when you activate certain hexagons, each other player who has house(s) around it also take the action).

The rules take a bit to sink in, but I found it pretty satisfying.

A fellow Colemakian! Love the keyboard!

I see your concern there, and I’m in the same boat as far as not wanting to make games not fun. For me, the app is more of a way to keep track of what I’ve played, keeping high scores, and knowing what day of the week I sacrifice most of my time to board games on.

Thanks for that info about Dominion though. I’ll only abuse it a couple times. ;)

I played a few solo games, including Dustrunner and Gate, and I did a couple scenarios in Monster Expedition (in which I realized I had been under-improving my hunting camps in my previous games by not using all applicable dice). My girlfriend and I got in a couple games of Wingspan ala duet mode, which is always a satisfying way to spend post of an afternoon.

Also, I picked up the BG Stats app and have spent a fair amount of time entering any logged games I could scrounge up. I feel complete now.

Slightly sorry, mostly not sorry. (Oh, how I wish indie, on demand games weren’t so expensive…)

Not sure if you saw it, but there is a Gates mat actually! It’s annoyingly several dollars more, but for completeness, it’s there. And thanks for the heads up on the sale! Any suggestions for other good games?

While it is indeed a highly intriguing name, it is but a small part of the larger game. Sadly you do not get to explore the Fearamid, haha.

I haven’t played any yet, but I like the idea of it! I’d really like to give the Frostpunk and Monster Hunter World adaptations a go.

Broke out Gate and the Gates expansion for this morning’s solo game session. Got close to winning this time around, but the deck was under built by the time I got to the final two enemies. Final score of 30!

Quick follow up: it’s available on their site now!

Libby, the ebook reader app that is synced with my library card! It works quite well, and though I technically pay for my public library via taxes, the app is free and fantastic!

Onirim is a fun experience, but I’d wait for a sale. You can get a lot more board game for $35. Aim for $20 or less. Game Nerdz and Amazon have it for $25 at the moment.

Opted for a couple games of Onirim this morning, and I got close to finally winning! Or at least I thought I had until I checked the discard and saw that that blue moon card I needed was discarded only a few turns into the game. Oh well, one day…

I’ve been playing a number of solo games lately as my usual group seems to be doomed to never have aligned schedules these days. I’m currently in love with Arkham Horror LCG and the Wingspan Automata, but I also enjoy smaller games like Totem (solo mode) and One Deck Dungeon. What small-medium sized solo games do y’all enjoy?
