I'm on Bluesky. I have seen a drama increase in followers in the last few days since Twitter let blocked people see content that were blocked from.

It's a big blow to Twitter that people are finding someplace, anyplace , else to go.

I had to decide if I was going to Mastodon or Bluesky. I picked Bluesky because after reading Mastodon's integration problems with itself I wanted nothing to do with it. It couldn't scale unless each instance played nice and in the years since it went live they had refused to do that and showed no signs of even moving in that direction.

Who else has that kind of range? Mike Patton.

When I lived in the Tidewater area I practically made a hobby of going to places with okay food and entertainingly bad service. We were always on a mission to find the worst food. We found it at one of the "Steak Seafood Pasta" places on the Blvd. Everything came from a microwave and the freezer section of some supply company.

Came here to mention this was three and a half years after the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire. There is zero doubt this is a result of that.

No lies detected.

One of the more popular arguments from preppers during covid was that these hyper-independent minded people were suddenly demanding the ability to go out to stores and meet up with people in large groups.

After years of "I don't need nobody" they went hard core "people need interaction!". It was a beautiful thing that not one of them will admit.

I've been doing this since before the orange blight. The people haven't changed. They are just more obviously hypocrites. They went from "keep government out of my life, I want personal freedom" to "only through government can we maintain control over anyone that makes us feel icky."

The rest of this is splitting hairs.

I agree that the motivation portion is entirely different. But the actions are the same.

There is fine line between farming with guns and prepping.

I didn't have any issues with the Dr Manhattan scene. It was the Nightowl one with Hallelujah playing that felt so cringe.

I have chickens, ducks and geese, raised beds, just built a solar battery charger, can my own food, dehydrate food, cook everything from scratch, etc etc. I go through all the same steps. My friends refer to me as a prepper despite me saying I'm a homesteader. They keep saying they are going to show up at my place if everything collapses. I started shutting this down by saying they need to be pre-approved, pay a $150 non-refundable deposit and $50 a month so that I can make sure I have food and other essentials for when they show up. Because it's really annoying to hear someone say "I'm totally not doing anything about my fears so I'm going to impose on you when the time comes."

I'm just trying to reduce the amount it takes for me to survive. It happens that if you are ready to be unemployed for a few months that a lot of the same prepa come in handy for a collapse of the economy. The same things needed to hunt squirrels are helpful against zombies.

It wasn't just unnecessary it was bad. Did you see it?

What is the most masculine movie ever? What is the most feminine movie ever? What is the most femboy movie ever? What is the most malgirl movie ever?

My county just had a crazy night.

There was a big amendment to restrict zoning for chickens, ducks, rabbits, etc regarding quantity, coop size, distance from residence, roosters vs hens etc. People were big mad because it was going to dramatically regulate things. This wasn't going to impact us because of our Rural Neighborhood (RN) zoning. We were still going to have trouble because under current rules we were limited to 5 small non cat or dog animals. We are way past that limit and knew this could one day cause a problem.

Well something magical happened. They didn't just not pass the amendment. They repealed all existing ordinances regarding small farm animals. My county government completely wiped out an entire section of the ODU. No more restrictions. None. We are now completely legal. Which, I assume, means that if they do adopt new rules in the future we will be grandfathered in under the nonexistent rules that now exist.

My county got rid of rules. My land now has more freedom than it did when I moved in. This is something that hardly ever happens in America. Today was a great day.

Maybe Lancaster county SC will inspire others across the country.

This run was nothing special. Nothing bad happened. Nothing good happened earlier than expected. It was just an easy run.

I don't really play to maximize wins. I just do it to fill time.

Changing "Every" to "Only" on who can vote.

And by "to be banned" they mean "we haven't even started a bill yet so we aren't even close to an actual law."
