Me watching picturing a video of somebody printing of a copy of a copy and then printing off a copy of that copy... again... and again... and again.

smedly-exhausted

The mount of time that had to be spent to clean that place up to keep from getting shut down by health code violations must have been terrible for the workers...

I mean, if you're fighting a dragon, are pants really necessary?

Sure, but its also possible that the guilt any Israeli feels doesn't have a clear... explanation? cause?... that can be rationally understood. It's going to take time to process the internalized racism and bigotry and figure out which side you'll come out on: "It is good to be a racist bigot (or I'm not a racist bigot at all) and it was the government's fault for pursuing a regional war improperly" or "Oh, fucking shit, we were the bad guys the whole time and I'll need to rethink everything I've ever been taught or thought about the country that I grew up in."

sets traps in building that have already been cleared

Shit's not a video game, once you leave a building or area it stops being cleared/secured.

We’re sitting ducks in a shooting range.

Solution? Stop will all the imperalism? No, we need more money for new boats.

Might check what you need when you actually vote, that expired photo ID might get rejected.

Probably would get him a huge bump in the polls if he did.

Its always a trip to see some old TV show or made-for-TV movie and notice somebody now well known as a bit character or background extra.

For whatever reason my brain has decided to think about this.

VLC will record the Desktop and Space Rangers but not Transformers: Devastation Though the game screen it captures for is a different size than what is captured with the Desktop while either game is running. Seeing what happens when Transformers runs results in a white screen being recorded while the game window is in focus.

My ancient Radeon graphics card and Windows 7 operating system (don't at me Linux folks, I know I know) has some screen recording stuff build into it. Will record the Desktop just fine, records only a black screen while the game is running and its window is focused for one game but records the other game just fine and at an appropriate size.

For curiosity's sake what would I be looking for as reasons or solutions to this?

Edit:

Running everything as Administrator seems to help in OBS. Who knew? monke-beepboop

OBS seems to play nice with Transformers: Devastation now, lets me draw the bounding box in the Game Source instead of trying to use the Display source.

Still haven't figured out why OBS is being wonky with Space Rangers not recording in "Game Source" but did get a lead on why the size is wonky in the recording of "Display Source". The max resolution for the CD version (the one I've got) is 1024x768 and my monitor is 1920x1080. (Unsure why there's a difference between what I see playing the game and what the software is recording.) And the only resolution patch I've found doesn't work on the CD version... :whomp-whomp:

... but I finally did it.

For whatever silly reason, I decided to play the 2005 version of Space Rangers ( a kinda difficult game on its easy mode) on its hardest difficulty setting and after a handful of bad starts and one very loooonnnng good run I managed to finish.

To celebrate I will use this emoji

And as penance I will start reading Capital Volume 1 as linked by comrade Vampire in their "get in nerds we're reading all volumes of Capital" reading group.

150+ pounds so far (that I need to get put in the freezer) and probably another 100 still in the tree.

A comrade posted about this USA federal program a while ago. So I spent a few days looking into it.

Website was fairly clear, making an account was no problem, site function is pretty good (no hanging pages, dead links, etc). There's a link to a page where you can put in your city/state or zip code and it gives a <100% accurate list of businesses that participate in the program. (So if you already have a service provider and they aren't listed, call their customer service number and ask if they participate in the Affordable Connectivity Program. Two of the local telecoms that service my area participate, and their customer service people absolutely knew about the program and seemed genuinely happy to let me know what I needed to do.)

It took a day or so for the ACP site to tell me I was approved. The first page after logging in to the site has your "Application ID" right there for you to see. This is the magic number to give to your ISP. I contacted my ISP about midway through the billing cycle and gave them the info they wanted. They didn't contact me to let me know when the discount was going to be applied but it showed up as a 30 dollar credit on my next full month's bill. Which dropped my current internet bill down by 77%.

So, its all very :hexbear-retro:, so far.

A new internet service just came out to my house today to finish running actual fiberoptic with ~100Mbps up/down (compared to my original provider with 15/1... which is ... :downbear: ). From the ACP site's FAQ page, the credit is transferable to a new ISP and all I think I needed to do was just give the new ISP the Application ID number. So I've started the process with the new ISP and get to wait to see if I understood the program's directions for transferring the credit correctly.

So at the very least, if you're already on some government assistance, this should be a breeze if you want to try for it.

I didn't look at the part of the application process for people who would need to provide more documentation for income verification. So I don't have any useful things to say about that.
