The monitoring group said that the strikes were supported by planes believed to be Israeli and that Syrian air defenses and Russian forces were “confronting” the missiles for over 40 minutes. Rybar said that some of Israel’s cruise missiles were shot down by Russian antiaircraft fire from Russia’s nearby base but that others hit a warehouse used by Syrian and Iranian forces.

An opinion poll published in mid-September by the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research (PSR), a think tank based in Ramallah and funded by Western donors, showed for the first time the majority of Gazans opposed the decision to attack. The poll, conducted in early September, found that 57% of people surveyed in the Gaza Strip said the decision to launch the offensive was incorrect, while just 39% said it was correct – down sharply from the previous poll in June.

The PSR opinion poll, published on Sept. 17, showed that the proportion of Gazans who said they want Hamas to run a post-war Gaza had dropped to 36%, from 46% in its June poll.

Even in the West Bank, where support for Hamas remained stronger, support for the attack has declined, the poll showed, though almost two-thirds of respondents there still thought it was the correct decision.

There are reports about this being coordinated by Iran, which has been recruiting for a while now for this attack and possibly more.
But not from known sources, so we'll have to wait for other ones.

Probably similar to the way they tried recruiting several months ago https://archive.md/OC1fk (Haaretz)

It will mostly be Patriot, David's Sling and Arrow according to the Wikipedia article on their defense systems.
I think Barak is mostly for Navy assets?

The alternative is the libertarian socialist AANES (Rojava).

Those people came from other areas to chant in support of Hezbollah in areas where there's no support for Hezbollah.

[–] Billy@lemmy.dbzer0.com -1 points 3 weeks ago (3 children)

Why are you so sure these people didn't support Hezbollah before?

I understood the point you were trying to make, hence my reply.
All those things are examples for how Hezbollah hasn't protected Lebanon, but quite the opposite.
Without Hezbollah, Lebanon could've been in a much better place now.

They're a big part of the reason Lebanon is in the bad state it is in right now.
They've been executing critics and opposition for years. The ammo depot explosion was also devastating.
Their assassination of Lebanon's prime minister.
Shooting rockets at Israel since the 8th of October against the Lebanese government's wishes.
And their continued assistance of Assad alongside Russia in butchering Syrians, which was/is not in the interest of Lebanon.

There were always Hezbollah supporters in Lebanon.

The uproar was specifically caused by the fact that Ain al-Mraiseh is not considered an area where the party is dominant. For that reason, users considered these movements as "provocative."

Only one of those 2 groups has a proven track record and an international reputation of deliberately massacring civilians and it isn't Hezbollah.

Reminding you this is what you wrote. That's what my reply was aimed at. I didn't write anything about Israel.
What I linked to is only some examples, not everything. And the 1st link contains quite a lot of events.

Lebanese, Syrians and Kurds have been suffering from Hezbollah for many years.

I posted it more because I was surprised Hezbollah is targeting the west bank.
There were rocket hits in Palestinian cities like Nablus.

[–] Billy@lemmy.dbzer0.com -1 points 4 weeks ago (3 children)

Are you intentionally lying or just completely ignorant about Hezbollah?
They helped Assad slaughter civilians in Syria.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hezbollah_involvement_in_the_Syrian_civil_war

They bombed a synagogue in Argentina

Execution of critics in Lebanon like Lokman Slim

And recently shooting rockets towards towns and cities, like the Majdal Shams attack

For all Iranian women.

Considering your previous post and now this, it is clear your posts are in bad faith.
I'll answer for the sake of others reading these comments.

First of all, Ashkenazi Jewish women aren't all Jewish women. Most Jews in Israel aren't Ashkenazi.
Either way, the study you linked to is the only study out of several that has met criticism from several geneticists and researchers.
There are several other studies that show mt-DNA of middle eastern origin.
They are all referred to in this Wikipedia page under "Maternal line".

Second, we're talking about ethnicity here, not religion. Jews are also an ethnic group. Y-DNA is very relevant.
