Hey everyone!

I'm attempting to reformat 10 200GB SAS3 SSDs that iDRAC (and the eBay seller) is reporting are formatted for 520B sectors. Now sector sizes isn't my forte but I get the concept. I have Ubuntu Server 22.04 installed on a SATADOM but I'm unable to see any other disks in order to format them even though iDRAC reports them. The H730P RAID Controller is set into HBA mode and I've tried both SATA and AHCI in the SATA Configuration. I'm seriously at a loss here, as Ubuntu doesn't even see them or give errors dmesg.

Any advice helps, thanks!

Update: I tried some other SAS3 HDDs with 512B sector sizes and they popped up fine, but still no luck with the SSDs. For anyone who cares, they're HSGT HUSMH8020BSS204 200GB SAS3 drives.

As much as I hate it, try a temporary windows install, my EMC disks wouldn’t present for me to format them until I setup a temp windows install

Now that’s an interesting idea. I’ll have to dig a GPU out of a spare parts been but I’ll give this a shot. Thanks!

If they are detected they will appear under the lsblk command output

They don’t.
