A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. The best ones are thoughts that many people can relate to and they find something funny or interesting in regular stuff.

I've just been reading about how in the future, AI will allow us to speak with animals, and people will be able to communicate telepathically and live in their own VR worlds. (etc., etc.)

Man, this isn't a world I want to live in. I'm so tired of the constant paradigm shifting that you have to put your brain through with each innovation. I wish technology just stayed frozen in the 1980s – there would be so much less uncertainty in my life and I could just focus on being a human.

Innovation keeps being forced on you and I just feel tired. >!And I'm only just in my 20s!< Is this ok? Is this valid? When resisting it is a loser's game...

"In the early 21st century, there was a genre of art where hands were drawn either with an incorrect number of fingers or other mutations. We believe this style of art was used for ritual purposes. Strangely, this movement of art lasted a very short period of time, from 2023 before gradually disappearing by around 2025"

EDIT for those who didn't get it, it's because some newer image generators draw better hands

Given how harder it's becoming to tell apart AI slop from something made by a human (videos, photos, text), and how much scammers and other criminals are piling up on the tech, I'm thinking this will be the silver lining, making some people pay more attention to real life and finally accept the maxim "Don't believe everything you see on the internet"

Was getting ready this morning and the ending of MGS2 came to mind.

Plot

It states that GW was the only AI destroyed, and that the S3 Plan's real purpose is to control human thought to prevent society's regression in the digital era from trivial information drowning knowledge and truth in the belief that humanity is too immature to handle the flow of information responsibly

Though the villains in MGS2 seemed to have better intentions than the nation states / trolls that are flooding the internet today.

Is a age that is both full of, and devoid of opportunities. I feel like being a adult is just lying about how much you have your shit together to people who also lie about having their shit together. After we got out of college, we are just going to sit in front of a computer like the generations before us for the rest of our life, with the only difference of be paided less then them. I don't want to be like this. I want my life to be more then this. I want to go out explore and change the world. When we gen z first comes to high school the world seems full of opportunities, we imagine us achieving great things, but not one of us could have imagined the entire generation having a mid-life crisis at the age of 18.

To all the Gen Z, and in the future, Gen Alpha. Welcome to the 2020s, welcome to late stage captalism.

if you take into account how the earth is moving all the time then the water isn’t actually going anywhere, its all just stationary while the earth moves every object around the water as necessary.
